Red Rose Nursing Home Opens Specialist Unit For 18 New Residents
Newark-based Red Rose Nursing Home is opening its doors to 18 new residents, following a major extension to the Farndon home. The development of the specialist unit, which will be known as the Red Rose Memory Unit, has been backed by a development loan provided by Santander Corporate Banking.
The new extension will be completed next month and will offer accommodation and care for people suffering with Alzheimer’s or Dementia. This is the first specialist unit of its type in the Newark area and the team at the home have worked closely with The Alzheimer’s Society on the design of the unit.
Red Rose Nursing Home is managed by parent company Red Homes Healthcare, which also owns Red Roofs Care Home and Parklands Care Home, both also based in Newark. In addition to the three care homes, Red Homes Healthcare also operates a domiciliary care business.
Red Homes Healthcare is a family business, founded in 1985 by Mr and Mrs Daniel and since 2002, has been managed by their son Roger, who now runs the day to day operations of the business.
Roger said: “We have been very impressed with the service we have received from the team at Santander. They have really taken the time to understand the business and our growth plans and have come up with a lending agreement that works for us.
With Santander’s help, we are now able to expand our business and offer a wider range of services to more people in need of high quality care. We are planning to further invest in the development of Parklands Care Home in 2012 and we’re looking forward to working with the team at Santander in order to achieve our next goals.”
“At Santander Corporate Banking, we’re keen to build relationships with and support strong and viable businesses and our agreement with Red Homes Healthcare is an excellent example of this. This one is particularly close to our heart though, as Santander’s charity partner for 2011 is the Alzheimer’s Society. So far this year, we have raised in excess of £350,000 for the charity.”
The new wing will be officially opened on 3 October 2011. It will boast 18 en suite bedrooms and three lounges, one of which will be used as a sensory room. There will also be a separate dining area and garden with wheelchair access. 2011-10-17 11:16:27 |
